Character Name: Kousaka Honoka
Character Canon: Love Live! School Idol Project
History: Wiki!
AU History:
Honoka has grown in up Caldera, living there for her entire life thus far. Her parents, owning their own sweets shop, live in the back of it with Honoka and her sister Yukiho. When not in school, she helps her parents run the shop from time to time, to help prepare her to run it on her own some day. As Calderans, it was important for her parents to raise a daughter that would be able to be independent and capable of taking care of herself and others around her. As she grew older, she showed no extraordinary signs, save one- being seemingly capable of being able to understand pokémon, to a certain extent.
Because of that, Honoka would make it a point to meet and speak with as many pokémon as she possibly could. It was very rare for her to meet anyone else that could speak with them, and as a child it was exciting and amazing. A Calderan girl with the ability to befriend pokémon was almost unheard of. She came to be friends with any that resided in the city, and began to wonder what it would be like outside of Caldera. It was a happy life, one she'd grown to love.
But that dream had to be put to the wayside when Gigas attacked. With the city under siege, Honoka realized truly why she'd been taught that it was important to be strong and be loyal to those around her. Before that, she took for granted why so much of their heritage was put into believing they should be strong. And for two years, she lived in the midst of war, helping where she could. Unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to help with the fighting, due to a massive lack of experience in combat at all, but if she could get supplies somewhere, cheer up those who were fighting against Gigas and try to give them hope, then that's what she did.
When Union finally came to aid the Calderans, it was as if a prayer had been answered for her. And to top it off, their way of life was so much different than her own. How they view pokémon, their religious system, all of it was strange. But at the same time, it wasn't. So she decided to leave, to travel to Union. Not, of course, until everything at home had been taken care of and her parents would be okay during her time away. The war was an awful thing, and she couldn't sit there and let that sadness become a permanent reality. She explained to them that she had to go because she felt there was far more to their world than what Caldera had taught, they'd seen that from the Unionites, the gentleness between them and their pokémon. It's a little of the same she'd had with them as a child.
So she left, onward, to Union to see exactly what it was that made Union so special in that regard.
Canon Personality:
Kousaka Honoka is a bright, energetic girl who is always looking on the bright side of every situation. Leading her friends to achieve their dreams, she embodies the concept of being able to bring people together, no matter what their background is.
She in herself is a very kind person. She doesn't want others to feel left out, inviting them to come along and have fun right along with her and anyone else she's with at the time. Umi, one of her best friends, got to know her in this way- as Honoka drew her out from behind a tree to get her to come play with herself and Kotori. Honoka is the kind of girl that wears her heart on her sleeve. You can tell when she's upset, happy, mellowed out, or excited about something. She also tends to be very sentimental about things, concerning her reactions to her school closing and the decision to disband μ's after the Love Live. But she doesn't let that get her down, letting her passion take over. She won't let the school shut down, and will do anything in her power to try to keep it alive. This drive lead her to forming μ's, and gathering the people she came to be true friends with together, extending an invitation to them to become part of something important no matter who they were or where they came from. She helps to inspire those around her, and when her mind is set, it's set- and she constantly is showing that nothing will keep her from achieving her goals.
That stubbornness of hers helped to get what she has. When she's got an idea, she runs with it and will always drag her friends along for the ride even if they're not necessarily keen on coming. But she can convince them to do what she wants. She's also very pushy when she wants something, and will resort to tactics where she'll give a little if someone else gives a little in return, like when she convinces a few girls to come to their first concert if they show some of μ's dance moves to them a little early. Honoka is a bit selfish in this aspect, but because of that, it's helped to give Kotori, for example, a reason to do the things she does. Because of this she's a little oblivious to the world around her and doesn't always see the issues with her other friends. This does grow a bit better over time and she tries to be more conscious of others, but needless to say she's not always paying attention.
In turn, Honoka can be a little dramatic about things. She whines when she has to do something she doesn't like, eat something she doesn't like, etc. And when this happens, she has to be pushed a little bit by her friends. Whether it's her poor math grades, or working out to get into shape for μ's, that loving and caring (and forced upon) support is needed to push her. Though at the end of the day, she knows it's worth it and it's something she needs to do. So she works as hard as she can so she doesn't let her friends down. It's not to say Honoka can't be a little lazy however, with her love of sleeping in and her eating habits. A lover of bread, she tends to eat and eat and eat- except if it's red bean paste. She can also be a bit derpy about things. It's not to say she's stupid, but she's not as quick on the draw as some of her other friends. It's a trait that they've come to love her for and yell at her for.
She is a leader, a friend, and someone that you can look to when you need help. Her determination and passion for things she cares for keep her going when others might have fallen, and will drag her friends with her to help them reach their dreams.
AU Deviation:
The real big thing is that Honoka will know the horror of war. If anything I think that will push her to be more of a foundation for her friends and family, as if she wasn't already driven enough in canon. I do believe she will be a bit less lazy about some things, even if she still doesn't completely think it all the way through. Also, Honoka in canon is one that isn't a physical fighter, rather than she is a mental one. But with the reality of war fresh in her mind, it doesn't seem like an awful idea to her to train pokémon so that if the day comes that it happens again, she'll be more prepared to help her friends. I'm not talking shonen levels of preparation, but more than just waiting for someone to come back injured. So she can be out there and serve as encouragement to them and the pokémon giving it their all. Or even to do something to give the people hope.Like form μ's
Canon Abilities:
Being a normal human teenager, she doesn't really have any abilities. But what she does posses is leadership qualities, and the ability to bring the most unlikely of people together.
Enlightened Abilities:
Honoka's abilities will be Far From Ordinary and Kindred Soul. Her type will be Normal.
Starter Pokémon:
Happiny and Tropius!

First-Person:
Hi! I'm Kousaka Honoka! We traveled all the way here from Caldera! The desert was so hot...we were wondering if there was anywhere we could get some water or some food... [She does look a little tired.]
I really like bread if there's a shop here that sells it. Or maybe even rice! I've been eating nothing but fruit since we left. I like it, but it would be nice if I could get a little bit of bread or something that isn't fruit... I'm so hungry...
Third-Person:
It was a long journey, traveling from Caldera to Union. The desert was hot, and Honoka swears she'd never worked so hard in her life except for when Gigas had attacked. She was sweaty and gross, but it was worth the effort to get to where she was going. Nothing was going to stop her, not some heat, not any pokémon she came across, nothing. Tropius traveled at her side, one of her oldest friends who had been brought to Caldera years and years ago by another who could speak with pokémon. He looks exhausted from the trip, but like his trainer, didn't give up so easily despite traversing across a terrain that was clearly not his native land. But having lived in this desert had helped. They'd flown a good portion of the way, but even that took a toll on Tropius after a time, so they'd landed and rested for just a little bit then decided to walk to allow him the time to regain some strength. But the sun wouldn't allow him much.
In her large backpack, Happiny poked her head out every now and again to see what was going on. In fact, she was the reason why Honoka's backpack weighed so much and why it was tiring out the poor girl faster than she normally would have.
"We're almost there, just a little further," Honoka chokes out, fighting to put one foot in front of the other. But she is in desperate need of rest, and collapses, causing the young Happiny in her backpack to panic. Tropius reaches down, snagging her by the backpack and lifting the unconscious girl onto his back, letting her sleep until they'd reached Union.
When she finally wakes, the scene around her has changed drastically- she's surrounded by trees in a dense wood, but she can see their destination through cloudy eyes. Wiping sleep away, she sits up with excitement first and foremost. Is that Union? Were they finally there?
"Do you see what I see!? We made it! We made it to Union! That is Union, isn't it?" Looking up to Tropius, she says, "I'm sorry I wasn't able to walk here all by myself. I guess I should of been a little more careful." Silently nodding back at her, he tells her that it's alright- he's used to her antics by now.
It brings a smile to her face, and she focuses back on the goal. Union. Those who had similar ideas to her own, viewing pokémon the way she viewed pokémon. Maybe here, she would find what she was looking for.
